Digital Issue Website
Good Website Design vs Bad Website Design
Step 1 - Select an issue
We have been discussing many different topics revolving around digital issues.
Here's an overview of digital issues: Cyberbullying, Cyber Security, Excessive Internet Use, Excessive Gaming, Gambling, Online Hate, Online Ethics, Online Marketing, Privacy, Sexual Exploitation, Sexting.
This list is not exhaustive - There maybe an issue that you wish to explore that isn't on the list. By the end of the first class working on the website, you must tell me what issue you'll be researching.
Step 2 - The Research
For your research, you will need to have at least 3 sources of information. If you directly copy from any of those websites, you'll need to cite them.
If you are quoting something directly (you copied and pasted it), you'll need to have the author's name, the name of the website and the link to the website, with your quote. Add quotation marks to show it is a quote.
"Cyberbullying is the act of harming or harassing via information technology networks in a repeated and deliberate manner" - Author Unknown, Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberbullying
If you rewrite something that you find online using mostly your own words, please include the author's name, the website and the link.
The repeated and deliberate harassing through online connections is cyberbullying. - Author Unknown, Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberbullying
There are no quotation marks around this citation because it is not directed taken from the website.
When in doubt, cite. It's better safe than sorry when it comes to plagiarism.
